Recently, ERNI launched the single row MicroBridge series cable to board connectors with a spacing of 1.27 mm, expanding its highly successful MiniBridge (1.27 mm spacing) and MaxiBridge (2.54 mm) cable to board connector series. By developing MicroBridge cable connectors, ERNI reliably and consistently meets the requirements of customers in the automotive industry. From the beginning, this cable to board connector was developed according to the strict automotive connector testing standards VW75174 and USCAR-2. In this context, the robust and durable MicroBridge series connectors stand out for their excellent mating integrity and simple and reliable handling methods.
 
Koshiri's safety, optional Electrical Connector Position Assurance (CPA), and possible color and mechanical coding for any number of pins ensure safe, reliable, and correct connections. Koshiri safety means it can prevent damage caused by incorrect or skewed insertion. The tongue on the MicroBridge female connector and the groove on the male connector can perform pre alignment of the connector housing, ensuring precise mating process. The contact pins of the male connector will not be damaged due to incorrect skewed mating. The male connector has shortened test pins (without signal and power functions), and its electrical CPA function can test the firm contact between the female connector and the male connector even during the mating process. All the above functional features achieve a high degree of mating integrity and reliable contact, which helps reduce potential failures in production and on-site.
 
Although MicroBridge has a 1.27mm small spacing that is very suitable for small installation spaces, it is very sturdy and durable. This means that the connector can withstand vibrations or shock loads in the vehicle (as specified in VW75174 standard) and harsh environmental conditions such as high temperatures. The locking devices and high temperature resistance on both sides of the connector ensure the above and other characteristics, while the shell locking devices on both sides provide interlocking sound and tactile feedback during the mating process. Users can release the locking device without the need for tools. The soldering clip of the male connector absorbs mechanical stress and can withstand high impact and vibration loads. MicroBridge has a high temperature resistance of up to 150 ° C and can be used in areas exposed to harsh temperature conditions, such as near the LED in the headlights.
 
MicroBridge offers straight and right angle SMT single row male connectors. The male connectors are supplied in the form of scroll packaging for automated assembly. Single row female connectors are supplied through insulation displacement (IDC) type. They currently offer 90 ° cable exports and comply with various internationally recognized standards. The dual design of insulation displacement terminals ensures very reliable connection contacts. In addition, its integrated stress relief device can protect insulation displacement connections from mechanical stress caused by cable movement.
 
ERNI currently offers single row MicroBridge cable connectors with a spacing of 1.27 mm, with a pin count range of 2 to 20.
